Today HipHopDX premiered a new trailer for the highly anticipated 2Pac biopic, 'All Eyez On Me.' The trailer included a look at whats is to come in the upcoming summer movie.
The trailer features Demetrius Shipp, Jr. as Tupac, Jamal Woolard as Notorious B.I.G. (a role he famously held in 2009’s Notorious) and Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight. Biggie and ‘Pac can be seen conversing in one of the scenes, a callback to their pre-feud bond.
The trailer also includes a speech from Danai Gurira, who plays ‘Pac’s late mom Afeni Shakur.
“Son,” she says. “This ain’t just about you. Like all black men, you have a bullseye on your back. They are gonna come after you and everything you love. They are gonna give you the tools that you need to destroy yourself. So above all else, to thy own self, be true.”
Kat Graham (“The Vampire Diaries,” The Parent Trap) will star as Shakur’s longtime friend Jada Pinkett, John West Jr. (“Southland”) will play Naughty by Nature’s Treach, and Grace Gibson (Black Nativity) will play Faith Evans.
Released by Lionsgate and directed by Benny Boom, All Eyez On Me is due in theaters June 16 on what would have been Tupac’s 46th birthday.
